The Fibroid Clinic at Lagos is the new Nigerian partner clinic of the Birmingham Fibroid Clinic. Run by consultant gynaecologist Dr. Christian Alabi, it is the first dedicated clinic for women with fibroids in Sub-saharan Africa.

Dr Crowe has been named by peers as being in the UK's top 10 fibroid surgeons in a survey conducted by the Daily Mail.
It asked: 'If your own nearest and own nearest and dearest were to need fibroid treatment to whom would you refer them and why?"

NICE, the NHS National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has just updated its guidance on Uterine artery embolisation for fibroids. The guidance document and an explaination of the guidance for patients are now online in the Downloads section.

New CT Scanner at Spire Parkway Hospital

A new state of the art multislice Toshiba CT scanner has been installed at Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull. The 64 slice scanner was officially opened by Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham on July 1st.

Open evening event on Fibroid Embolisation

Unfortunately the open evening event for patients and public planned as part of the Embolisation-UK 2010 Conference on March 22nd has had to be cancelled. The Birmingham Fibroid Clinic will be organising an alternative event in coming months.
