Dr Paul Crowe

Dr. Paul Crowe is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist based in Birmingham, UK.

He has special interests in vascular and urological radiology and uterine artery embolisation for fibroids. He undertakes ultrasound, CT and MRI scanning as well as a wide range of minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures for both NHS and private patients.

Dr. Crowe attended Trinity College Medical School in Dublin, graduating in 1988. After medical jobs in Dublin, Manchester and the Middle East he undertook 5 years of specialist training in Radiology in Birmingham followed by further sub speciality training in Interventional Radiology. He has been a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, a large university teaching hospital, since May 1998. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and of the Faculty of Radiologists of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFRRCSI) and is a member of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR), the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE) and The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR, USA).

Dr. Crowe actively participates in teaching and research and is the lead Interventional Radiology Trainer for the West Midlands Radiology Training Scheme. He is chair of the Communications Committee of the BSIR (British Society of Interventional Radiology) and also sits on numerous local committees including the Heart of England NHS Trust’s Novel Therapeutics Committee.

Open evening event on Fibroid Embolisation

Unfortunately the open evening event for patients and public planned as part of the Embolisation-UK 2010 Conference on March 22nd has had to be cancelled. The Birmingham Fibroid Clinic will be organising an alternative event in coming months.
