NICE issues updated UAE Guidance

NICE, the NHS National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has just updated its guidance on Uterine artery embolisation for fibroids. The guidance document ‘Uterine artery embolisation for fibroids’ and an explaination of the guidance for patients entitled ‘Understanding NICE Guidance – Treating fibroids by blocking their blood supply’ are available to download in pdf format

New CT Scanner at Spire Parkway Hospital

A new state of the art multislice Toshiba CT scanner has been installed at Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull. The report of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) UK Uterine Artery Embolisation for Fibroids registry has been published and is now available to download. Dr. Crowe, with embolisation practices at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (NHS) and the BMI Priory Hospital (private), was the leading individual contributor to the registry which collected data on UAE procedures
